Resort brief:
Grindelwald is one of the 'old school' ski resorts blessed with a breathtaking mountainous backdrop. It first attracted mountaineers who came to attempt to climb one of the famous local peaks, most notably the Eiger.
Skiing:
Grindelwald is one of three linked ski areas including Wengen and Murren, and offers a wealth of opportunity for piste skiers with some excellent off-piste skiing on the slopes above Wengen.
Non-skiing options:
There are so many options for non-skiers it is difficult to know where to begin. The absolute must for skier and non-skier alike is a trip to the top of the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, reaching an altitude of 3454 metres. As well as a number of restaurants at the top, and fantastic views, there are a variety of activities including dog sledding.
Nightlife:
Although not renown for its pulsating nightlife, Grindelwald does have a number of bars and two nightclubs.
